99PR.com Frequently Asked Questions:
How does 99pr work?
Start your Radio Publicity campaign in 3 Easy Steps
- Write up your pitch or press release and send it in through the web form on the Submit page. If you need advice on crafting a pitch, check out our PR Tips page for sage PR advice.
- After you submit your pitch, we will send you a Test Message for approval.
- Once you approve the message format and content, you pay through our Order page and we will send out your message.
How many contacts will my email go out to?
The average list size is between 900-1200.
Will you send pictures with my email?
No. 99pr does not recommend sending pictures in email. This is considered bad email etiquette, especially by journalists. Pictures are very important, but it is preferable to send a link to a website with the pictures you want your audience to see.
Will you send attachments?
No. Attachments, unless specifically requested, are considered bad email etiquette, especially by journalists who are inundated with email.
Is this SPAM?
No. Spam is inherently commercial by definition - it tries to sell. Public Relations mailings never sell a product or service. These mailings may "sell" the idea to cover a product or person, but never ask for a purchase. If anything, PR mailings offer to give away products, not sell them. On the technical side, 99pr.com uses highly responsible and time consuming email sending techniques, very different from the techniques employed by spammers.
Can you guarantee my message will be read?
No. We can only guarantee your message will go out as you approved to a number of radio producers and journalists. Whether your message is read depends on a number of factors - Timing, Other News, Relevance to other events. The best thing you can do is write a compelling pitch and subject line. Please see our PR Tips section for helpful pointers.
When Should I send in my pitch?
Earlier is always better. Please see our Scheduling Guidelines below, but in general it is best to submit a pitch a minimum of 24 hours in advance.
When are campaigns sent out?
We send campaigns in the early morning on Monday and Tuesday of the week. This is necesarry because radio producers often plan their week on these days.
What happens after I submit my pitch?
We will format the message and send you a test message as soon as possible. We may also contact you by email or phone to confirm your order and message. Once you approve the campaign, we will send it out on the agreed on time.

99PR Scheduling Guidelines
-
We suggest you schedule your campaign for early in the week. Most 99pr campaigns go out on Monday and Tuesday mornings. Wednesday through Friday should only be considered if your pitch is very relevant to mid week news events or of the "evergreen" nature. Otherwise, wait until the next week.
-
Unless a prior arrangement exists, there is a minimum 12 hour lead time for all campaigns.
-
All test messages must be approved in a timely manner or we will not be able to send out the campaign.
"Requested Delivery Time" is just that - a request. We will do our best to send the campaign then, but we do not promise it as far too many factors out of our control can delay your campaign. If a campaign is time critical, please contact us to schedule a firm time a minimum 24 hours in advance.
