While you are the expert on your book or product, you should always have your pitch, sample questions and talking points in front of you. Often when you communicate with a producer on your appearance they will tell you what topics from your book or pitch will be asked about on air. It is also fair to ask if they do not offer any advice on the topic areas they want you to speak on.
